Lovejoy City Council holds first meeting of 2020

Lovejoy City Council members met a week early for their first enclave of the year, avoiding a conflict with the Jan. 20 Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. The city council normally meets on the third Monday of each month.

One of the first action items was to appoint a new mayor pro-tem, which fell to Post 2 Councilwoman Marci Fluellyn. Bobby Cartwright, who serves on contract as Lovejoy’s city manager, began another term as mayor. Also returning to the board were Post 4 Councilwoman Mary Ann Carp and Post 3 Councilwoman Rebekah Holland Wright. Continue reading
